Hello internet! This is my first ever
official blog and I am so excited to get started! Anyway, to cut the long story
short... I adore English and therefore my love for reading and writing has
developed. I aspire to be a Journalist/Lawyer one day and I would love to work
with children.
I have many people and interests in my life that make me incredibly happy.
I have a love for vintage and am very intrigued by the different eras of past decades. I am comfortable to mix things up a bit; one day, I may look like I belong in the 1950s, the next, a 1920s goddess and the next, nice normal clothes from Primark. Proper vintage is incredibly expensive and so unfortunately, my wardrobe cannot be completely full of vintage clothing and accessories. However, I am a bargain hunter and have been lucky enough to find items rather cheap at vintage fairs and events. Due to vintage not being easily affordable, I do try and find items that are either retro or improper vintage (items that look vintage, but are not actually vintage). This way, I can look how I want to until I save enough money to be able to afford the items I want. Wherever I am, if I see a sign that says something like `vintage this way`, I'm there, even if I can't afford to buy anything. It doesn't hurt to look, right?
I am also a massive fan of performing arts. I attend a performing arts school where I take lessons in singing, drama, musical theatre and modern dance. My love for the arts started at a young age but I am now more passionate about it than ever. I started ballet at the age of 4 but was not allowed to take my first exam because I talked too much and therefore didn't have the knowledge I needed to complete the exam, but I was 4 and would now like to think that I have grown in to a strong and well disciplined student. I hope so anyway. I have performed in a variety of school shows and shows with my performing arts school. These shows vary from a steam punk version of `Alice
in Wonderland` to `Oliver!` which was performed at the Marlowe theatre in Canterbury , Kent .
I love the buzz I get from performing and it helps me grow as an individual on
and off stage. I also have a great love of watching shows. I have also directed
and written a piece of drama entitled `Dixie 's`
which was a 1920s murder mystery for my schools drama showcase. I have seen
lots of West End shows and each one I have
seen I have come away with my mind being blown whether it was by the whole
show, a particular cast member or the set. My dream would be to go to NYC and
experience the atmosphere of a Broadway production.
I adore my friends and family, without them I wouldn't be the person I am today. If something unfortunate is thrown our way, we attempt (after time and although it's not always easy) to search for the positives and try and come out the other side stronger because at the end of the day that is the only way the future is going to look bright. I am lucky to have a mixed friend group and each person in it has a unique personality that makes our group mesh so well. Without them, I really don't know what I would do. I am so thankful that they are in my life because I really don't know anyone that would be able to put up with me otherwise. We all get along and make each other laugh, that's the beauty of our friendship. Over the past year we have all grown really close making our group stronger than ever. I have finally found people who appreciate me for me and I can have coffee dates with. On the other hand, my family are wonderful, yes, we don't always get along, but I love them all the same.
Anyway, that's a rambling essay about me. I hope to fill this blog with positive things that I have done, love and hope to do. Although I cannot guarantee it won't be full of rambling too. I want to be someone that others can relate to and look up to.
