I have a friend who makes me so proud. She has faced many challenges in life, but somehow she always manages to bounce back and keep that beautiful smile on her face.
She has bad days, but more often than not she is happy. That is just because of who she is, but it's mainly down to the wonderful people that surround her, in particular her Mum.
Her Mum is such a strong character. If there was a list of the best Mum's in the world, she would be on it. She has such conviction and fight in her at the times when her daughter has little and I really do admire her.
When I say that my friend has faced many challenges, I mean many, and like everyone who knows her probably thinks, she really doesn't deserve it. However, she does deserve to be happy and fortunately she is. Some may think that she's not normal and that she doesn't live a normal life, but they're wrong. She is normal and she does live a normal life, she just needs more support than others.
Her smile is contagious and her laugh is so great. She giggles at the silliest things and I have tonnes of cherished memories with her. The thing I love most is probably that she makes it her mission to make others happy, or at least that's how I always feel when I'm in her presence.
I think that some people are either uneducated on issues such as disability or they just don't understand it, but I think it's important that we're all made to realise it really isn't it easy living with it. Mothers such as hers are what makes the issues seem so small because with a magic touch the problems don't seem to be so problematic.
When I hear about what she goes through, it makes my life seem so easy. She really is a star.
